Design process

In Snitch you play as a skilled thief breaking into a spooky castle where skeletons and ghosts roam the halls. Your goal is to collect all the gold in the castle without getting caught!

Developing for mobile

This was my first mobile game that I've ever worked on. It was a learning experience and a fun challenge!

Gameplay

Snitch is a strategy puzzle game where the player plans out the mission before executing it. We wanted to challenge the player by having them keep track of various moving entities within the level as they plan their actions.

Level design

The level design in Snitch aims to provide the player with interesting challenges in contained spaces. Since the player does not move through the level in real time it was very important that the player knew how actors in the level would move and act.

One method I used was to use different floor tiles for areas in view of the enemies. I also used this to communicate that enemies cannot see through certain objects.
